Shower Me With Love-Surprise Edition

Mommy, Daddy and I have lots of people who love us and care about us. We've had three showers already, two of which were a complete surprise!! Mommy's friends at work gave her a shower last week. I'll write about that later when I have pictures. Also, Daddy's friends at HIS work are giving us a shower tomorrow. I'll post that later, too. Right now I want to tell you about the surprises. A while ago Mommy's Little Saints (the kids in her 4th and 5th grade religion class) gave her a surprise shower. Jeni baked a cake and all the kids brought cute little gifts. Joyce organized it all and Mommy even got a book of advice for how to raise me. It was a lot of fun, and I got some cute outfits. The cake was delish and Mommy was REALLY surprised, which doesn't happen very often.

Then, last week, Mommy went to her Bunko group. It had been a looooong day for us and she almost tried to get an emergency sub because she was so tired. But she decided she really missed her Bunko friends and decided it to stick it out. Aunt Christy was talking about going to Target and had a long explaination about why she had to go to Target BEFORE Bunko, but Mommy didn't think anything of it. When she got to Michelle's house, Michelle wisked her up a million stairs to look at some super cute outfits (which Mommy ALSO thought was out of character for Michelle, but again, didn't think much of it). When they got back downstairs there were two diaper cakes and lots of little cutie things for me to wear and play with. Everyone had bought me a $5 gift instead of giving a $5 buy-in. What a surprise!!! It was so nice of everyone. Mommy opened her gifts and then they played Bunko. I feel so special they would think of me. It really meant a lot. As you can see, Mommy's not really dressed for pictures...they had a Royal's theme and this is all that fit her. Thanks Papa Adams for loaning the shirt.

Talk Show Host or Country Western Singer?

Today Mommy, Daddy and I had a special surprise. They went in to the see the genetic counselor (because all the doctors kept pressuring Mommy so she finally gave in). The counselor was very funny and friendly and she began to make a family tree. Mommy told the nice lady that she was going to run out of room on that little piece of paper. Sure enough... Anyway, the lady said that most likely if my chromosomes were messed up I wouldn't have made it this far. She said that Mommy's side of the family had tested the theory and there were PLENTY of healthy babies to prove it. Then she told them that they would get another sonogram. Mommy said it was the best day of her life...but she was just kidding, I think.

I played a lot when we were in there. I grabbed a hold of my toe-sies and put my hands on my head. The whole time my mouth was open. I was singing and talking and kissing hello to my parents. I couldn't stop moving...it's so fun swimming around in here. The doctor once again told my parents I was a girl, and showed them the parts to prove it...How embarrassing!

It was a fun day. I'll post pictures of myself soon, so everyone can see. I still look alien-ish, but much more like a baby than last time. Oh yeah, I weigh a whopping 2 lbs 7 oz and I'm measuing 28.9 weeks instead of 27.8 like I really am. I think I may have Daddy's build.

Love,
Sophie Rinard

I'm a Supermodel

Mommy and Daddy's friend Amanda Mills from ACM Photography came over today to take pictures of me. I think I did a pretty good job of smiling...hope you can tell.

While we were taking pictures my BEST friend, Daisy, tried to butt her way into them. She thought this was HER photo shoot. She does look darn cute, though.

I think Mom and Dad had a lot of fun taking the pictures. They like to laugh a lot. In this picture, Daddy is playing music for me. He likes to do that before bedtime sometimes.

In this picture, Daddy is kissing me. Sometimes he talks to me and occasionally he'll try to get me to kick him. Isn't he a handsome Daddy? I already love him!

This is our little family. Daddy, the oldest, Mommy, the much younger second, Daisy, their first baby, and ME--just 27 weeks old.

This last picture is of Mommy. She's really growing, but that's because I am, too! She pats me and talks to me and I wonder what she'll be like. I bet she wonders the same thing about me.

Amanda did a really great job on the photographs. They turned out perfect. Can't wait to see them on my nursery wall!

Until next time,
Sophia Rinard
